Every wonder why you sabotage your goals?

We partner with individuals and teams as a means of reclaiming their inner power together. Part of that reclamation includes continually replacing fear and doubt (and their sabotaging effects) with self-trust. Fear and doubt form the foundation for self-sabotage. If you are stuck in a 2019 goal, there is a deeper reason. The culprit, Immunity-to-Change, is the unconscious process of building internal and external resistance to the change that we seek.

Why am I resisting my own change?

I asked myself this question five years ago while studying under Immunity-to-Change founders Drs. Lisa Lahey & Robert Kegan. Their methodology sent me on a quest to become a certified Immunity-to-Change coach. At the heart of the matter, our behaviors, feelings (fears), and mindset form interlocking circles that lead us to respond in opposition of our goal. Here’s the cycle: we set a goal (col.1) while, unknowingly, having an assumption that something negative will happen if we take action towards that goal. That assumption (col. 4) fuels behaviors (col. 2) that sabotage our goal. Unbeknownst, we also carry worries/fears that compete with our goal (top of col. 3). Unaware of our fears, we form hidden commitments that compete against our goal (bottom of col. 3). This cycle creates our Immunity-to-Change.
