Catalyzing Systems Change, One Sector at a Time

At Developing Capacity Coaching (DCC), we build leadership, resilience, and adaptive capacity—working with both those shaping systems and those most impacted by them.

Our work turns bold intentions into measurable, sustainable change.

Where we’ve been

Proven Impact Across Systems

We’ve partnered across public, social impact, and justice sectors to strengthen capacity where it matters most: focused on 4 key entry points that drive real, sustained transformation:

  • Transforming Personal Leadership – helping leaders heal, align, and lead with purpose.

  • Build Team Capacity – cultivating trust, cohesion, and resilience.

  • Shift Organizational Culture – embedding values that outlast the moment into everyday practice.

  • Leverage Data-Informed Decision making – using evidence to drive decision-making and accountability.

We’ve worked alongside partners like…

The Mayors Innovation Project, Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority, Nellie Mae Education Foundation, The Aspen Institute Young Leaders Fellows, Cook County Juvenile Probation and Court Services, Microsoft, and more — all united by a desire to make transformation tangible, sustainable, and human-centered.

Leaders from across sectors experienced…

  • 24% increase in seeing self as a change agent

  • 94% leaders gained reflective leadership skills

  • 52% increase in leadership confidence

  • 42% increase in core leadership skills

  • 100% said they would recommend DCC

Where We're Going

Still Rooted. Now Going Deeper.

As the demand for conscious, resilient, and data-informed leadership rises, we’re deepening our impact through Whole-System Leadership Pathways — an evolution of how we serve those shaping systems and those shaped by them.

We remain guided by the beliefs that:

  • People drive systems—invest in people, and systems follow

  • Change must outlast the consultant—build durable capacity, not dependency

  • Transformation must be measurable—so you can see and sustain the change

  • Human dignity, fairness, and thriving are non-negotiable

To meet this moment, we’re building the capacity of individuals, teams, and systems through three intentional pathways.

A tiered approach that activates system change:

Leadership Labs - for system shapers — senior leaders, executives, and decision-makers

  • Longer-term, strategy-driven programs that strengthen purpose, alignment, and organizational sustainability

    • Public Impact Leadership Lab

    • The Justice Leadership Resilience Lab

    • Executive Resilience & Sustainability Lab

Leadership Accelerators - for system participants — justice impacted folks and mid-level staff

  • High-energy, growth-centered programs that build confidence, momentum, and practical leadership

    • Public Impact Leadership Accelerator (for Mid-Level Leaders)

    • Restorative Pathways: Re-Entry Leadership Accelerator

    • Momentum: Mid-Career Leadership Accelerator

Foundational Offerings - for broader access to bring transformation to more people

    • Beacons: Leadership Development Program for Managers™

    • Aya Conscious Leadership Coaching™ Cohorts

    • Bridging Dialogue for Change™

    • Empowered for Impact (EFI)™ Conscious Leadership Coaches Certification Program

    • Data Informed Decision-Making Capacity Building Series

This layered structure allows us to meet people where they are — while ensuring change takes root across the entire system.

Core Areas of Work

Focused Impact Where It Matters Most

We partner with organizations ready to lead with humanity, purpose, and proof. Discover what transformation can look like in your context:

  • Equipping government, philanthropy/non-profit, and education leaders to lead with clarity, fairness, and sustainability.

    • The Public Impact Leadership Lab (PILL) is a 12-month, cohort-based program for senior-level leaders in government, philanthropy, nonprofits, and public education. Designed for those carrying the responsibility of stewarding public-serving institutions, PILL equips leaders to navigate complexity, balance competing demands, and sustain themselves and their organizations.

    • Public Impact Leadership Accelerator (PILA): Mid-level leaders are the backbone of social change — translating vision into practice and holding institutions together under pressure. Yet they’re often overlooked in leadership investment. PILA is a 6–9 month coaching and strategy program that builds resilience, clarity, and alignment so leaders can sustain themselves, strengthen teams, and drive lasting impact.

    • Systems leaders might also consider Bridging Dialogue for Change™ (BDC) and Empowered for Impact™ (EFI).

  • Supporting returning citizens, diversion leaders, and correctional institutions in building restorative, purpose-driven ecosystems.

    • The Justice Leadership Resilience Lab (JLRL) is a 12-month cohort program for diversion directors, correctional leaders (local, state prisons and jails), re-entry managers, and system administrators designed to restore resilience, strengthen leadership capacity, and align justice organizations for long-term sustainability. Through executive coaching, adaptive leadership frameworks, trauma-informed practices, peer learning circles, and system strategy, participants move from managing crises to leading purposeful, sustainable, and human-centered systems of justice.

    • The Restorative Pathways: Re-Entry Leadership Accelerator (RLA) is a 6-9 month leadership development program designed specifically for justice-impacted individuals in custody and those returning from incarceration or diversion. Unlike traditional re-entry programs that focus narrowly on compliance or survival,The RLA equips participants with the skills, confidence, and resilience to thrive as leaders in their own lives, workplaces, and communities.

    • Systems leaders might also consider Beacons Leadership Development Program for their managers and DID Capacity Building Series: Strengthen Your Data-Informed Leadership.

  • Helping corporate and large non-profit teams align talent, culture, and strategy with long-term resilience and equity

    • Executive Resilience & Sustainability Lab: A 6–12 month program for CHROs, senior HR/talent executives, nonprofit COOs, and executive leaders shaping workforce strategy. This lab equips senior leaders to design talent systems where purpose, resilience, and sustainability are inseparable from performance. Gain the clarity and tools to build organizations where people want to stay, grow, and thrive.

    • Momentum: Mid-Career Leadership Accelerator: Mid-level leaders in corporations and large nonprofits are the backbone of organizations — yet often the most overlooked. Momentum is a 6–9 month program that builds their resilience, clarity, and leadership capacity through applied labs, coaching, and peer consultancies, equipping them to strengthen teams today and prepare for senior roles tomorrow.

    • Systems leaders might also consider Bridging Dialogue for Change™ (BDC) and Aya Conscious Leadership Coaching Program.

  • Great for initiating transformation, reaching more people, sustaining the work across more layers of your organization

    • Beacons Leadership Program for Managers: a strategic leadership program for supervisors  who aspire to revitalize their approach for B.O.L.D. success today and the future.
